Nice! Is this a French market stall? If it is, a lot of care has been taken to lay out the bars of soap attractively when you think it's all taken down at the end of the day. There were some good photo opportunities at the market in St R�my if you get the chance.

Do you have any certain settings set? Because I have a 2.16 MBP with 2GB of memory and it takes like 40 seconds to suspend and resume. I'm not getting anywhere near the few seconds you guys are talking about.

Apple has it all down to a science. They probably have algorithm's for getting the most possible money out of you.....if you don't see this your blind...Wait for something that actually makes a difference...not just a different color. As if they ever intended to release the white iphone at the same time as the black one hahahaha :rolleyes:

The uDAC-2 has both a DAC and an amp. NuForce.com "As a step beyond the successful uDAC, the uDAC-2 boasts a highly linear TOCOS volume control for improved channel tracking at low listening levels, in addition to 24bit/96kHz USB DAC and an improved headphone amp. "
have you noticed a big difference with the amp? i have the same headphones, which are fantastic, btw.
It hasn't been delivered yet, I'll let you know how it sounds when it arrives. From what I got reading the reviews it should be a nice improvement. :)

How would an operating system KNOW it is being run in virtualization? It cannot determine the difference from a real computer. We are talking about Vista like it is an artificial intelligence of some kind.
I suppose that depends on how you define artifical intelligence... Anyway, to answer your point, Vista can determine if you are running the software in a virtual environment. Virtualization requires the OS to be embedded in further software, and that software has distinct signitures that can be pulled out by the OS. It might be possible to add patches to prevent Vista from seeing those signatures, but who knows.
On another front, if MS were wise, they would take some advice from Apple's iTunes and use a deactivation feature. This would prevent a huge stress on their phone support and tremendously add to user happiness. If there ever became an issue with Windows, or someone needed to upgrade, then they could go ahead and deactivate that copy of windows or deauthorize the account (through safe mode in the case of OS problems). Then, the software could be reinstalled without worry and reactivated.

I want a way to see how much space the trash is taking up before I empty it. Is there a way? There was in OS 9 and OS 8.
I use the Junk Meter widget (http://www.dashboardwidgets.com/showcase/details.php?wid=607) to see mine and just leave it sitting open on Dashboard all the time.

I installed the first developer preview and I disliked the fact they changed some of the trackpad gestures,I m not gonna try this one.
A friend of mine has had some troubles with the version also... Couldn t boot into it...

Just got here to Brea an there's about 20 or so in line. Hopefully we can get some update on inventory levels. They didn't sell any yesterday but I don't know if that's because they didn't get any or chose to hold them for today.

It is literally impossible to get rid of guns here. The only thing gun-control does is take away guns from those who legitimately and responsibly own them. You think the guns that gangsters and criminals have are registered? I think not.

Was at Brea this morning and it was pretty good. They received about 50 or so iPads with a lot of 16GB Black Wifi. I'd recommend getting there no later than 5:30 if you want to be in the top 15. First person in line arrived at 4:30 today. Insane.
Also, last word of advice on Brea, make sure you get INTO the mall. Find an employee entrance to enter through. The line starts AT THE APPLE STORE! Not outside the mall. Good luck.
Lastly, don't plan on picking one up at Best Buy. There is a huge list to get them already and Best Buy will not have inventory for quite some time.

MacBook Air from late 2010 now boots standard with 64-bit Kernel and Extensions enabled!
Why would you need 64 bit for a MBA? To fly off those huge sample libraries that the processor would lock up over?
64 bit is only for massive memory allocations and a MBA doesn't even have the CPU to pull it off... :rolleyes:

I just updated mine and there is a noticeable difference in speed with this update. It is much faster in opening applications and text messages.
